Endorsement Process

Strive Endorsement Process

The success of our children directly impacts the quality of life in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. Strive believes that by having successful students we will develop productive citizens, which will in turn create thriving cities.

Strive is a unique group of community leaders representing the education, business, faith, nonprofit, philanthropic and civic sectors, along with input from the community-at-large, who are committed to providing a world-class education to every child in the urban core of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.

To achieve this goal, we bring together those working within our community to help children for form collaborations of providers called Student Success Networks to align resources and develop regional strategies to improve student success.

We use a unique tool to guide these Student Success Networks. Strive has worked closely with General Electric to adapt the process improvement model known as Six Sigma into an effective, easy-to-use method for the social sector. Strive Six Sigma helps networks identify problems, define their causes, brainstorm solutions, and determine the effect. The networks then use that information to create plan of action to implement or improve services that will have the best possible impact on the success of students.

The Student Success Networks share the collected local evidence with Strive.  The Strive Endorsement Process was created to share the progress being made by the Student Success Networks with the community.

There the two stages of Strive Endorsements. First, a Student Success Network must be created or strenghened and then identify priority strategies with help from the community, educators and research.

  • Stage One Endorsement – the Student Success Network has focused on a common problem and brainstormed solutions, committed to gathering the data necessary to establish local evidence to prove that the solution they proposed will have the desired impact on students.
  • Stage Two Endorsement – the Student Success Network has established local evidence and implented the action plan; and committed to collecting data going forward and using that information to make continuous improvements.

The Strive Executive Committee, which has representatives from all community sectors, reviews this information and awards endorsements in two stages that reflect the networks’ status – a unique recognition of their work to achieve the goals of successful students, productive citizens, and thriving cities.
