Strive Six Sigma
Strive Six Sigma is a tool we use to guide groups though the Strive Endorsement Process; from aspiration to action.
Strive Six Sigma provides a common framework to get from point A to point B. It’s how we coordinate a group of very individual, independent organizations with a similar mission to becoming a cohesive Network of organizations working together towards the same goals.
Strive Six Sigma relies on data; it helps to identify what data is needed to prove what is working and what is not, to understand what the data really means, and to use data to make sound decisions.
Strive Six Sigma has five phases:
- Define exactly what we want to do. Deliverables include a list of all team members and a team charter containing the problem definition, project scope, goals and objectives.
- Measure what improvements need to occur to achieve our goal. Deliverables include a process map for improved student supports and a data plan.
- Analyze factors that determine outcomes. Deliverables include identifying sources of variation, analyzing the data and establishing local evidence.
- Improve current strategy and/or fill gaps with new or existing resources. Deliverables include an improved process map and action plan.
- Continue to improve on the action plans. Deliverables include a continuous improvement plan.
While working through these phases, the Networks create a workbook called an endorsement packet that documents how the group settled on determining the problem, the goal and the objectives. The packet also includes a timeline that clearly lays out responsibilities as well as metrics to track progress and continually improve.
