Affnan Mohammad

Specialist, Policy

Affnan Mohammad is a specialist on the Policy & Partnerships team at StriveTogether, where she supports state and local partners in advancing policies that improve outcomes for children and families. In this role, she works across sectors to translate policy priorities into actionable strategies and strengthen coordination in support of StriveTogether’s goal of putting 4 million more young people on a path to economic mobility by 2030.

Prior to joining StriveTogether, Affnan served at the U.S. Department of State, where she managed programs and funding portfolios supporting millions of refugees globally, and designing professional exchange programs in partnership with universities and U.S. embassies worldwide.  Her experience also includes work with the U.S. Department of the Navy and the Peace Corps Headquarters, where she led cross-sector initiatives, strengthened partnerships and supported large-scale program implementation.

Affnan holds a Bachelor of Arts from Marquette University and a Master of Public Policy from Duke University. She is based in Houston, Texas.
