We can’t drive change if we’re all moving in different directions — working together effectively is crucial for getting better outcomes for our communities. This three-course learning journey will help you facilitate groups toward shared understanding and aligned action. You’ll learn how to facilitate conversations that move people to action, design meetings that keep the work progressing and bring together the people needed to make an impact. 

You should embark on this learning journey if you want to: 

  • Design meetings that keep the work moving forward 
  • Identify practices that build group engagement and trust  
  • Facilitate groups towards shared understanding and alignment 

The most valuable part of this course was helping to plan meetings with intentionality to get the required results. It reminded me that the right people needed to be at the table with a clear and concise purpose.

What is a learning journey? 

Learning journeys are a curated collection of self-paced courses, designed to help you move from understanding to action on key concepts needed to improve outcomes in a community. As you work through the courses, you will gain the fundamental knowledge that will lead you to application and deeper insight. If you want to dive even deeper, sign up for an optional quarterly live session to talk through what you’re learning and applying with peers and subject matter experts.

Effective conversations can move groups from talk to action. This self-paced course will teach you how to use tools like context statements, effective questions, and listen-/watch-fors to achieve the results you want from your meetings.  

2. Designing an Effective Meeting Agenda

2. Designing an Effective Meeting Agenda

An effective meeting can make a big impact on your group’s goals. One tool for meeting design is a 3R agenda, which highlights the Relationships and Resources needed to achieve the meeting’s Results. In this self-paced workshop, you’ll explore how to create a 3R agenda for an effective meeting.

3. Building and Leading Effective Working Groups

3. Building and Leading Effective Working Groups

Working groups are a powerful way for place-based partnerships to turn big goals into coordinated, meaningful action. By bringing together the right mix of people – including those closest to the work, the data and the lived experience – working groups create a focused space for collaboration, problem-solving and shared accountability. This self-paced mini course explores the importance of working groups and offers practical tools to launch and sustain them effectively.
