What the Data Says: Visualization and Evidence for Impact Stories
This workshop is part of a three-part series on impact storytelling, offered in partnership with Measure Well.
Registration for each workshop is individual — participants are encouraged to attend each workshop, but attendance at previous workshops is not required.
The second session in this series turns to the fundamentals of data literacy as they apply to impact storytelling. This session explores key questions, such as “What is your data actually saying?”
We’ll explore how to weave together different types of evidence into a cohesive narrative that effectively represents the progress of your community. We’ll learn from expert storytellers and work with a simple critique approach for reading any chart or statistic with a more discerning eye, explore how different visualization types carry their own strengths and trade-offs, and discuss how to combine multiple data sources so an impact story is strong and compelling.
